Instructor Ken Zoll BIO
Ken Zoll holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Loyola University of Chicago. Ken’s primary area of study has been in ancient astronomy. His book, Sinagua Sunwatchers, describes his two-year study of the solar calendar at the Crane Heritage Site. Heart of the Sky describes all fifteen of his astronomical discoveries in the Sedona Verde Valley area. A Cultural Astronomy Study of the Casa Malpais National Historic Landmark describes his findings at that site. Other popular books include Understanding the Rock Art of Sedona, H. H. Nininger - Master of Meteorites, and The Crane Petroglyph Heritage Site and the V-V Historic Ranch, with Coconino National Forest Archaeologist Peter J. Pilles, Jr. All proceeds from the sale of his books go to the Archaeology Center for cultural resource preservation.
Articles have appeared is several publications including the Journal of Arizona Archaeology, Plateau Journal, Arizona Highways, Sojourns, the Journal of Astronomy in Culture, and the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology’s Anthropological Papers Series Number 9.
