Acclaimed artist, Monica Nuvamsa will share deeper insight to her more popular art pieces including four-part series called “A Journey of Life” and “Seasons of Change” which have both been made into puzzles, and swaddle blanket series called “First Blessings.” Through these pieces, the audience will learn what inspires the artist, her technique and connects to her spirituality and culture.

Monica is a member of the Water Cloud Clan and raised in the Village of Songoogopavi.
Monica is a self-taught artist raised among a community and family of artists in drawing, painting, silvercraft, basketry, and weaving. She has shared her work in the Hopi community through designing logos and posters for local nonprofits and government services. Her artwork is also featured on the official flag of the Hopi Tribe.
Monica’s creativity crosses several mediums including pen & ink, painting, graphic design that is featured on puzzles, fabric, and jewelry. Monica considers the gift of art as expression of healing and prayer, a gift she is just beginning to share after a 29-year career with government and nonprofits.
